Hometown USA

The place where we find refuge and safety or feel secure

Our origin, birthplace, place of belonging

Pages in our photo album recording our first’s that soon turn into memories

First haircut, birthday, bicycle, broken arm, girlfriend

First day of kindergarten, fire drill, pint cartons of milk, the pledge to our flag

First time to hold a girls hand in a circle, screaming yuck but really liking it

First time to drive a car, get a job, and wonder why the bank gave us that first loan

Our childhood backyard, home base, history, memories of the corner store

A season where things were measured by the price of gas, a roll of stamps & penny candy

Where we could safely test life and play before we became adults

Playing sports, playing music, playing like couples in love and even being in plays

Until we were all expected to grow up from boys to men & girls to women

I know for some who can’t let go, Hometown still seems to owe them something

Yet others who are a little detached it is just their password on facebook

For me, it is the vibrant color in my youth that allows me to paint my life today

Where passion for knowing truth was passed on by teachers, coaches, moms & dads

Hometown was anything from perfect but it was real

Our friends, family, pets, successes & failures

Experiences giving us a glimpse of who we wanted to be & who we did not want to be

Now as we look back, the gigantic basketball court seems a little small

The initials carved into the tree seem a little silly

That first car, well, it took more power to run the speakers than it did to make it up a hill

I find myself referring to people & things as; “that old so and so”

Questions start with; “remember” & “I wonder what happened to…”

Bad memories kind of fade into the shadows of time but the thoughts of Jumping off the swing set, flying into the air & being a super hero once again are still just under the surface

Hometown, a moment on the time-line of life, a reference of being, a circle of friends & family the safe place to make mistakes & to overcome

Could it be that God’s Original Design for Hometown was like one of three bird’s nests?

The nest that either had so much comfort we never wanted to leave

The nest that had little comfort & so many stickers we couldn’t wait to leave

The nest that was so high in the air with such a beautiful view that we looked back at the nest with great honor but we had to answer the call to adventure, jump out & fly, testing & challenging all that we had been taught in and from our Hometown.

Word of the Week - Words

Our goal is to try and understand the original definition of each word so that we can communicate with God, our family in the Lord and those lost in the world with greater understanding and clarity. We will also better understand our purpose of being on this earth and a confidence of our future once our earthly bodies lie down for the last time or Jesus returns for us, which ever happens first.

WORD

To speak, a meaningful sound or combination of sounds, conversation, expressing an idea.

Importance: God used this word to create everything that we know of today. Unlocking the mystery of this word will take you beyond the deepest deeps of truth that you could ever imagine. When you understand the original definitions of this word you will be pressed upon to take action because it is written:

“… the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing … is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12 NKJV)

“… be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” (James 1:22 NKJV)

I have put the word, word in three categories:

SPOKEN WORD: God created everything by His Word

God said…Genesis 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 24, 26, 28, 29, 2:18

First temptation of mankind was Genesis 3:1 when the serpent; questioned what God said, twisted what God said and caused mankind to doubt what God said. Sin is disobedience to what God causing a separation between us and God.

WRITTEN WORD: In the Old Testament when the Word of God was written it became law;

Therefore be very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, lest you turn aside from it to the right hand or to the left, (Joshua 23:6 NKJV)

Matthew 2:5 - knowing of the messiah’s coming because “…it is written.”

Jesus is born and ready to enter into public ministry when tempted by Satan to doubt God’s Word as with Adam and Eve but this time Jesus defeated Satan with the words of authority: “…it is written.” (Matthew 4:4, 7 and 10)

LIVING WORD: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² He was in the beginning with God. ³ All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” (John 1:1-3 NKJV)

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory…” (John 1:14 NKJV)

BRINGING IT HOME: Christ is in you, The Living Word is in you.

“…the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. ²⁷ To them God willed to make known … this mystery among the Gentiles: whichis Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Colossians 1:26-27 NKJV)

“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart…” (Romans 10:8 NKJV)

The Word is written on your heart.

“…clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.” (2 Corinthians 3:3 NKJV)

The Holy Spirit is here to remind us, prompt us, guide us into truth.

“…the Spirit of Truth has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” (John 16:13 NKJV)

So use words:

“The mouth of the righteous is a well of life, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.” (Proverbs 10:11 NKJV)

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21 NKJV)

Please read the previous blogs on prayer #10, #11 & #12.

This group confesses that they pray everywhere; walking up & down the business areas, at schools, the hospital, in restaurants, in their cars, at the coffee shops, on facebook and their latest target the Enumclaw Expo Centre. They have felt compelled to begin praying in advance for the Creation 2011 Christian Music Festival coming in July 2011.

They have reported while praying for this event their prayers went to a new level, a new depth that was larger than just Creation 2011. Prayers that they say have started exposing dark evil deeds done in the Enumclaw Community. Dark evil deeds like rape. The night of this prayer meeting was on May 21, 2011 the same day that a world-wide false prophet deceived thousands of people out of over $18 million dollars to spread the message that it was the end of the world.

What was the prayer that this group prayed? A prayer that has been recited hundreds of millions of times over the last 2000 years, a prayer taught by our Lord Jesus to his first disciples when they asked Jesus to teach them how to pray. A prayer that is too often mindlessly mumbled in a group sing-song, but not so on the night of May 21, 2011.

"Our Father in heaven

Holy is Your Name

Your Kingdom Come..."

And then it happened; faith to believe that the Kingdom of God, His Rule, His Reign, His Authority would actually manifest in answer to prayer. Not just for Creation 2011 but for the whole community of Enumclaw Washington. Breaking the power of spiritual darkness in the name & authority of Jesus by His shed blood & His resurrection power.

Spiritual Darkness has already started to loosen it's grip as it must submit to the Kingdom, Rule, Reign & Authority of God! Not only was a rapist taken into custody but a major drug ring that had property in Enumclaw was also busted. The Kingdom of God ruling in Enumclaw!

The individuals of the prayer group have asked not to be mentioned by name so that the attention would remain on the one who answers prayer, GOD & not on them. The group was also posting their prayer times & places on their facebook page but now have gone to invitation only because this kind of answered prayer has historicly proven to just brings “gawkers”.

Approaching our King Jesus with petitions

Think about how people in the past have approached you. Were there times when a person’s approach upset you, did you feel like they were questioning you, attacking you or just down right making you feel dumb or “less than”?

What about a time when someone approached you and you felt so good inside? Did they give you a feeling of being honoured or thanked or could you tell they were genuinely interested in you?

I know I have been approached both ways and the end result of each encounter produced different outcomes.

In the same way there is a protocol on how to approach our King Jesus. I found this great truth in comparing Martha & Mary and how they approached Jesus after their brother Lazarus (one of Jesus’ best friends) had died.

Approaching the King John 11:21-44 (NKJ)

John 11:21 “Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him…Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.

John 11:32 “Then, when Mary came where Jesus was … saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”

Two sisters recorded saying the exact same words but:

Martha got a sermon on the resurrection of the dead verses 23-27

Mary got a miracle verses 43-44 “…He (Jesus) cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

Why the difference in the outcomes? It is in the dot, dot, dots in the above passages.

Notice Martha was standing straight up almost rebuking Jesus with a spirit of entitlement (read the whole verse again out loud with that tone). Wow, no wonder Martha got a sermon.

What about Mary? Again read the dot, dot, dots in the above passage. Notice Mary was on her knees before her King! Confessing by faith, that if Jesus would have been present Lazarus would not have died. What was our Kings response? Jesus wept with her & raised her brother from the dead!

Following our theme song from Toby Mac, may we all approach our King as A City On Our Knees in honour, respect & reverence for our Saviour, Lord & King.

Now that we understand what a prayer of agreement is what are we going to agree on to pray? Since we are following “The Lord’s Prayer” we are focusing on this declaration:

Your Kingdom Come, Your will be done on earth (in Enumclaw Washington) as it is in heaven.

Kingdom of God [Strong’s 932] Will of God [Strong’s 2307]

            -rule or reign of authority

            -Children’s Bible; “Where is the Kingdom of God? Wherever God is
             King.”

            -Romans 14:17 the kingdom of God is … righteousness and peace and
            joy in the Holy Spirit.

            -Matthew 12:28 the Kingdom of God comes with power over the
            kingdom of darkness “But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God,
            surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.”

Therefore we are assembling to agree in prayer that The Kingdom of God, the rule & reign of God will come to Enumclaw Washington.

Praying & agreeing that those that have accepted Jesus as their Saviour would make Jesus their Lord & walk in righteousness, peace & joy in the Holy Spirit.

Praying & agreeing that those who have not accepted Jesus would be snatched from the kingdom of darkness & brought into the Kingdom of God’s Light!

WARNING! Before we pray a prayer like this you as an individual Christian and we as an agreed assembly, must know the protocol of approaching a King, our King, our King of Kings, Jesus!

Prayer of Agreement

Praying for Creation 2011 is the easy part; we open our mouths, speak to God in Jesus Name & present our petitions & declarations before Him. God answers our prayers & we give Him the Glory.

The hard part is understanding that we have an enemy & his #1 attack is always fear; fear of failure, fear of success, fear of looking stupid, every kind of fear. In this case it is his #2 attack that concerns me the most; attacking with a spirit of division.

Our strategy in fighting against this spirit of division is praying with “A prayer of Agreement” using Matthew 18 as our guide.

“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. ²⁰ For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:18-19)

1. The greatest challenge is to agree…

Agree [Strong’s Greek 4856]

            - to be harmonious (in tune, symphonic, not one out of tune)

- one accord (to agree with free will & understanding) Pirates of the Caribbean “Do we have an accord?”

- sounding together (all confessing with one voice or a true “Amen”)

2. The supernatural miracle is to actually gather…

Gathered [Strong’s Greek 4863]
             - to lead together to assemble (not a majority vote but all present
               100% “sold out” to the direction)

                -assemble because of Jesus alone (not a crowd of people with
                different opinions or agendas in the same room) more like connecting
                a bunch of “Lego” toys together, connected together for one
                purpose)

3. The promise, blessing & reward are that Jesus will be in our midst…

Midst [Strong’s 3319, 3326]

            -referring to the manifested, holy, miracle working presence of Jesus,
            the Son or our living God & Head of His Church.

-His is in front, behind, on all sides, on top & in the middle all at the same time (the idea is Jesus continually walking around the outside of our circle & then cutting through the middle, looking at us, listening to us, brushing shoulders with us as one of us. Intimately part of us)

Now that we understand what a prayer of agreement is what are we going to agree on to pray?

Now as He drew near, He saw the city (Jerusalem) and wept over it, … because you did not know the time of your visitation.” Luke 19:41-44 (NKJV)

This has got to be one of the most devastating, heart wrenching, difficult passages in all of scripture.

First as I apply it to my own life personally & individually this verse becomes a great devotion as I would never want to miss the presence of Jesus in my life every day.

But there is also a much broader picture here. The manifested presence of our Lord being revealed to a city of people that say they are waiting for His coming and they missed the visit altogether. This was Jerusalem 2000 years ago & Enumclaw last July 2010.

Several thousand Christians gathered in this community and one night as the Group Hill Song was leading us in a song of worship, a wonderful breeze began to flow all around us, the full moon was like a spotlight in the sky and the Holy Spirit was reminding me of the passage Jesus spoke that a time is coming and now is when the true worshippers shall worship in Spirit & Truth.

Now is, now is, now is… but this community as a whole missed it. Missed the time of our visitation, we have been given a second opportunity!

Our Father in heaven,

Hallowed be Your name.

Your kingdom come.

Your will be done

On earth (In Enumclaw) as it is in heaven.

I pray Father God that your will be done in Enumclaw as it is in heaven.
I pray in Jesus Name that those who are “sleeping” would awake, those lying down under the pressures of this world & the kingdom of darkness would arise and be strengthened to gather together & push back the oppressive work of darkness.
I pray that our Creation Guests would have great freedom to minister Your Word & also receive a refreshing in their spirits.
Heavenly Father I pray that you would bless them now, in advance as they prepare! Amen.

The entire vision & plan of greeting our Creation Northwest 2011 guests, sprung forth from our Wednesday night men’s prayer group. This was birthed with men in prayer & we are asking for this Core Leadership Prayer Team to be more men in prayer. It is really as simple as that.

QUALIFICATIONS OF TEAM

-It would be ideal if three or more men, age 13 years & up would unite from every ministry in our community & the surrounding communities (we have had interest from as far as Tacoma) to be liaisons & commit to three of the four Prayer Rallies.

-These men may or may not have titles, all of which are very welcome but we will be coming together only under the banner of unity in prayer.

Following Ephesians 4:3 “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”

PURPOSE OF TEAM

-Communications: last year the word that Creation 2010 was coming, got out a little late & few really knew how to get involved. So this team will be able to receive first hand information and communicate it to each of their ministries.

-To attend a private leadership Prayer Rally on Saturday, April 23, 2011 from 7 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. for prayer, training, instruction & communication in preparation of the next three Public Prayer Rallies: May, June & July. If we are to be a “City on our knees” we believe that the men in this community can lead us by example.

-To help pray for requests that will come in from Creation Friends Facebook page.

-To help organize & lead when over 1000 folks gather together for prayer near the Expo Center.

P – Prepare our Community.

R – Rally the Warriors

A – Alert the Heavenlies.

Y – Yoke together in Agreement.

-Create a Creation Friends Facebook page so everyone can stay informed each day.

-Have over 5000 Facebook Friends so that when the Creation Team prepares to come & setup they will be encouraged that we have so many that are ready to welcome them.

-Call for a Core Leadership Prayer Team; three or more men (ages 13 & up) from each ministry in town & special guests from neighboring towns. These men will not only communicate information back & forth to their ministries but will be committed to participate with all four Prayer Rallies (blowing the trumpet & rallying the troupes to battle).

-Have 4 Prayer Rallies to prepare the way in the Heavens, One each month. These Prayer Rallies will be on Saturdays from 7 PM to 8:30 PM. We will have a couple of local bands to provide song & music as we pray specific prayers for our coming guests.

-Prayer Rally One will be in April and will be only for the Core Leadership Prayer Team, for encouragement, communication, organization & training.

-Prayer Rallies; Two, Three & Four (one in May, June & July) everyone is invited, men & women of all ages and will be either on the Expo Grounds or very close by.

-Depending on the census of all of the Prayer Warriors at each Rally, considerations of a final praise gathering the end of July might be in order just to pause for a moment & thank our Lord & fellowship together.

Creation 2011 will be here July 20 – 23, 2011 and we are getting ready to give them a warm welcome again and hopefully even a warmer welcome!

After surveying the community in the following categories; residents, businesses & our Christian community, we are going to implement some suggestions & strategies to better embrace this miraculous event! It is almost like having a second chance at God’s Will & purpose.

2010 OBSERVATIONS:

These wonderful Creation Festival Christians were just to dang polite. Ha Ha.

For those of us who have been praying for years that a special move of God’s Holy Spirit would sweep across our community, Creation 2010 came & went and we have seen some small affects but we have observed no HUGE & LASTING FRUIT.

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.” John 15:16 (NKJV)

From the suggestions, this year we want to:

-Inform the entire community that 20,000 to 40,000 Christians will be camping around the Expo Center for a 4 day Festival with 60 bands and 20 speakers, all coming to exalt our Creator; God & His Son Jesus and that EVERYONE is invited! Follow the links & buy your ticket now.

-Help our local businesses to be aware of how we can better serve our guests and to seize the opportunity to stop & visit. Everyone has a story, let’s listen & share. With this many folks in town, the odds are that there will be some emergencies; a flat tire, dead battery, blown down tent or a lost child or friend. Let’s keep our eyes open & be the first to offer a hand of hospitality.

-Set up prayer groups to plow the spiritual field before our guests arrive. There are many reasons these guests are coming; family vacations, youth group outings, needing encouragement in their life, to freely worship under God’s sky with thousands of others. Others are coming because they are desperate and this may be their last opportunity to get their life right with Jesus, a last effort for their marriage, or making a decision about birthing a baby from an unplanned pregnancy.

-Encourage you or someone you know who has been questioning spiritual things, looking for answers or just wants to see if God is real to just come & sit on a blanket or stand in the middle of thousands that are not afraid to ask God as a collective group to help us; show us His Way & Truth. There is even a prayer tent setup for anyone who has specific questions or who wants someone else to help them to talk to God!

Creation 2010 was fantastic! The wonderful guests that visited our small community couldn’t have been better plus the Creation Crew, staff & volunteers had this event setup and cleaned up with precision. When everyone was gone there was actually no sign that they had even been here.

This event happened so fast & being the first time in Enumclaw Washington, the community was actually caught off guard. Being a small conservative community it takes folks around here a little longer than most to wrap our heads around such a great event.

There were also many that went through the whole week & never realized the Festival came & went. Part of that was because the Street Fair was run simultaneously the last two days of Creation 2010 & everything just looked the same-o.

I was told by one businessman who has been here quite a while, that the older Enumclaw folks have always been given an impression during all of the King County Fairs that they should stay home during events so as not to congest the traffic. Therefore some did not know that they were invited.

We are blessed to have Creation Festivals come back in 2011 and we are preparing now to give them a more warm welcome & to inform the locals to come on out & enjoy the fun!

1973 - Tom Spencer accepted Jesus as Lord at the age of 15.
1974 - Tom Spencer was called into ministry in Kansas.
1976 - Finished High School in Kansas. Worked at Silver Dollar City MO.
1977 - Ordained into ministry in Kansas, finished Junior College.
1980 - Finished Bible College in Springfield Missouri.

1981 - Ministered full time to 22 denominational youth groups in San Diego California.
1986 - Ministered full time with Home Group development in Spokane Washington.
1988 - Established a 30 member Home Group in Kent Washington.
1989 - Hired by Casey Treat to lead 250 Home Groups in Western Washington.
1990 - 1991 help to establish three new ministries from Casey Treat Ministries.
1992 - Tom understood his specific calling as an Establisher.
1993 - Established a House Ministry “The Family Church” in Washington, launched
from Casey's Ministry.
1993 - 1998 Established 30 “House Ministries” in Federal Way, Kent, Burien, Puyallup, Edgewood, and Tacoma's; North Side, Old Town, Hill Top and Pacific Ave.
1997 - Prayed the prayer of Nehemiah 9:32-38 over Tacoma and then Tom was instructed by the Lord to "Glean" what he could and flee Tacoma.
1999 - The “House Ministry” was dismantled.
2000 - Tom's wife of 20 years left him and he went through a "Job's Trial".
2001 - Tom Re-Opened Moving Made Easy married Sandy and both started six years of healing and restoration.
2003 – Tom & Sandy went back to school in Internet Marketing & WebSite construction, established TheBibleGuy.com focusing on discipleship & "Through The Bible Seminars".
2005 - Tom was impressed by the Lord to "Get his house in order" to prepare for The Lord’s next step in ministry.
2006 - Tom was called back to reenter Tacoma Washington after 10 years.
2006 - Tom and Sandy experienced restoration with Mike Riches ministry Destiny City Church and its Sister Ministry the Crossings Church in Tacoma.
2007 - Ministering in Tacoma, The Bible Guy Web Sight was "branded" on the side of the PT Cruiser and the Holy Spirit rekindled the "Flame" for small group discipleship.
2007 - December, Tom waiting on the Lord and “testing” several avenues.

2008 - Ministry name added "Neighborhood Ministries" and first "Jump Start with

Discipleship” Seminar launching 22 new trained disciplers. Ministering Discipleship on GodTube: a free online video web sight.

2009 – Focused on Moving Made Easy while navigating through tough economic times. GodTube going through an identity crises has changed its name to “Tangle“, blogging the Zondervan Bible RV going through Washington State plus participating in a first time Shelby Kennedy Foundation National Bible Bee. Our little group placed 3 youth out of 17,000 in the finals in Washington DC!

2010 – Launched the Internet Marketing Company with TheWebinator.com & TheWebinatorDomains.com building the City of Enumclaw its own Business Index EnumclawBusiness.com, our goal was to become a trusted voice in the community.

2010 – July promoted Creation 2010 in Enumclaw, over 25,000 Christians at our Expo Center for 4 days with over 40 bands worshiping our Lord!

2011 – Started meeting with a small group of Christian men every Wednesday night for prayer & discipleship. Creation is returning to Enumclaw & our group will lead the way in prayer.
